Man Flings Himself Into Path of Two Moving Vehicles

The bizarre incident occurred near the Black Horse Pike and Lower Landing Road in Gloucester Township on Tuesday.

A 32-year-old Pilesgrove, Salem County man allegedly jumped into the path of a moving vehicle Tuesday evening near the corner of the Black Horse Pike and Lower Landing Road, and after being hit jumped up and leaped into the path of a vehicle headed in the opposite direction, police said.

The incident occurred at 8:10 p.m.

The man, identified as Joseph Wilson, was knocked airborne by the second vehicle and ended up in the roadway, witnesses told police. That's where officers found him when they arrived.

Witnesses also said the man was running in and out of the path of moving cars until he was struck.

Wilson, of Woodstown-Daretown Road, was taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening trauma injuries. No other injuries were reported.

No charges were immediately reported against the drivers.
