National Night Out Set for August 5

The township's National Night Outs have consistently been recognized as among the best in the country.

Communities throughout Gloucester Township will be participating in the National Night Out program on Tuesday, Aug. 5, Gloucester Township Police announced on Wednesday. 

The township's National Night Outs have consistently been recognized as among the best in the country. In 2013, the township's National Night Out event was recognized as the 19th best in the country.

Neighbors, family, and friends will be gathering at their homes, on their streets, and at their local community centers in recognition of their support of the community.

National Night Out helps strengthen community support and the relationship between police and members of the community. Residents and communities that participate in National Night Out send a message that they are organized and not willing to stand for criminal activity occurring in their neighborhood.

Gloucester Township's National Night Out events consist of neighbors meeting on their front lawns, organized block parties of several neighbors on a closed street, or full neighborhood events at a local community center.

There will be approximately 25 separate locations hosting National Night Out events in Gloucester Township. 

Public National Night Out locations in Gloucester Township are:

* Blackwood Fire Company (14 West Central Avenue Blackwood, NJ);

* Erial Fire Company(1946 Williamstown Road); and

* Shoppes of Crosskeys (611 Cross Keys Road).
