New Police Officers to Take Oath Tonight

The nine new hires will be sworn in during tonight's Township Council meeting.

Nine recently hired police officers, including two who were laid off by Camden County towns, will be sworn in at tonight's Township Council meeting.

Patrolmen David Vannoni, Jason Smith, Nicholas Aumendo, Douglas Wallace, Joseph Eden, Benjamin Lewitt and Eric Marconi are recent graduates of Camden County Police Academy.

Ptl. Paul Byers was previously laid off from the Camden Police Department and Ptl. Brady Hort was previously laid off from the Cherry Hill Police Department. Both were hired by Gloucester Township Police Department off of the state Civil Service Commission's so-called "Rice List" for laid-off police officers.
