Off-Duty Gloucester Township Cop Accidentally Shoots Himself

The officer sustained a minor hand wound.

An off-duty Gloucester Township police officer accidentally shot himself early Sunday morning in his home in the unit block of Bromley Drive, a township police report said.

The officer, whose name was not released, was handling a personal weapon when it discharged and caused a minor wound to his hand, the report said. The incident occurred at 2:57 a.m. No other injuries were reported.

He was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, treated and released. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
