A Monday night shooting at the Blackwood apartments turned deadly. Autumn Ridge residents were on lockdown.

First reported at 9:03 a.m. July 16

A Monday night shooting at Autumn Ridge Apartments left one man dead and another wounded.

Gloucester Township Police found two men shot in the apartment complex's V building parking lot just before 9:30 p.m. Police aren't releasing their identities yet.

The gunshots brought out a strong police presence and a lockdown at the Little Gloucester Road apartment complex. Officers canvassed neighbors for any witnesses.

"A policeman came to my door and asked me if I heard anything. I confirmed that I had heard three shots, but didn't know they were shots at the time," a resident, who asked to remain anonymous, told Gloucester Township Patch. "When I asked if someone was shot, he said yes."

The resident didn't report hearing any fighting beforehand.

Gloucester Township Police and the Camden County Prosecutor's Office are investigating the shooting.
