Pedestrian Struck by Car on Lakeland Road

The car accident occurred around 8:30 p.m. Monday.

A pedestrian was injured when he was struck by a car on Lakeland Road Monday night, according to public-safety officials.

The pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, which remained on scene until police arrived to investigate, at around 8:30 p.m. Monday on the 100 block of Lakeland Road.

Gloucster Township Police identified the pedestrian as Brian Coyne.

Coyne was taken by Gloucester Township EMS Alliance ambulance to an area hospital, according to Blackwood Fire Company's Facebook page.

Coyne (age unknown) was listed in stable condition at Cooper University Hospital, in Camden, Tuesday night around 7:45.

Lakeland Road was closed down for several hours between Barbara Lane and Woodbury Turnersville Road as police investigated the accident.

Blackwood Fire Company's Rescue 84 truck and Chews Landing Fire Department's Ladder 82 truck provided lighting for the police investigation until about 11:45 p.m.
