Officers from Gloucester Township and Cherry Hill get in training on the less lethal devices.

Within the next two months, police officers in Camden County could get the OK to carry Tasers, and two departments got a head start on that process, training in the use of the weapons at Gloucester Township's training facility Tuesday.

About 15 officers got a hands-on look at the weapons, including a demonstration of the effects on themselves.

"It's one of the worst pains I've ever felt," Cherry Hill Lt. Sean Redmond said.

Currently, only Gloucester Township, Cherry Hill and the county sheriff's department have signed up to train in the user of Tasers, which won't get greenlit until the prosecutor's office finishes drafting a policy for their use—something spokesman Jason Laughlin said is "imminent."
