Pine Hill Man Charged With Eluding, Driving Violations Following Road Rage Incident at Blackwood Shop Rite

None of the charges against Michael Brown included criminal assault, however.

A Pine Hill man was charged with multiple violations following an incident in which he cut another man with a box cutter in a Shop Rite parking lot during a road rage incident Friday evening.

However, he was not criminally charged because the victim didn't provide any information in the incident, Gloucester Township Police said.

However, 49-year-old Michael Brown, of Pine Hill, was charged with eluding police with means to create substantial risk or causing physical injury to a public servant or others, driving while drivers license is suspended and several other motor vehicle violations committed in Gloucester Township and Pine Hill.

Gloucester Township Police were initially notified of a road rage incident at the Blackwood Clementon Road Shop Rite at 4:27 p.m. Friday afternoon.

This incident had actually occurred on Blackwood Clementon Road and Millbridge Road in the roadway. It began when Carl Constantino, 55, of Berlin, approached Brown, who began swinging the box cutter while sitting in the driver's seat of his car.

He slashed Constantino's left hand in the incident. Both vehicles then pulled over into the parking lot of the nearby Shop Rite.

When officers arrived on the scene, Brown fled in his vehicle. A short pursuit ended with Brown surrendering at his home.

Costantino declined medical attention or transportation to a hospital at the scene. At the police station, he refused to provide a statement, which is why no charges were filed against Brown pertaining to the assault.

Brown also refused to cooperate or provide any further details.

Brown was remanded to Camden County Correction Facility in default of $50,000 full cash bail.
