Pine Hill Man Killed by Girlfriend's Estranged Husband: Police

A Philadelphia man is under arrest and charged with murder after a love triangle turned deadly in a Pine Hill apartment.

Michael Cogan, 26, of Pine Hill, was fatally stabbed early Monday morning by his girlfriend’s estranged husband, who police say broke into Cogan’s apartment.

Authorities say Stefan Curry Beckett, 29, of Philadelphia, broke into the apartment by climbing through a balcony sliding glass door just before 5 a.m. Monday. Curry Beckett reportedly assaulted Cogan and stabbed him repeatedly.

Police say Curry Beckett targeted Cogan.

The stabbing took place in the 2600 building of the Greens at Pine Hill, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office. The Blackwood Clementon Road apartment complex is about a mile from Gloucester Township's border.

Curry Beckett was arrested near the scene on Blackwood Clementon Road near the Birches Apartments. Clementon and Lindenwold police departments both rushed to assist Pine Hill, and a Clementon officer spotted Curry Beckett and detained him.

Curry Beckett is charged with murder and felony murder, and is scheduled for arraignment Tuesday morning.
