Police 'Bag' 2 Alleged Car Burglars

A tip led to the arrest of two teens in Gloucester Township with bags full of loot.

Rounding up two suspected car burglars Monday was in the bag for Gloucester Township police after a tip by a resident.

Two teens were nabbed moments before they jumped on a NJ Transit bus with two backpacks full of stolen items, including electronics, credit cards in other people’s names and a large amount of loose change, police said.

The pair were spotted on the Black Horse Pike waiting for a bus shortly after 4:30 a.m. Police responded after a resident's call to report suspicious activity in his West Landing Road neighborhood in the Blackwood section of the township.

Authorities say the duo had burglarized several vehicles throughout Gloucester Township.

John Dayton, 19, from the 2200 Block of Sheridan Avenue in Franklinville, was charged with several counts of burglary and theft. Zachary Priest, 18, from the 1500 block of Old Black Horse Pike, in the Blackwood section of Gloucester Township, was also charged with several counts of burglary and theft.

Both were held at the Camden County jail on a $50,000 bail.
