Police: Camden Woman Makes Fake 911 Call During Traffic Stop

The woman apparently wanted to avoid being arrested on warrants.

Police say a Camden woman called in a fake 911 report of an individual armed with a shotgun at a nearby convenience store in an attempt to avoid being arrested on warrants during a traffic stop late Monday.

Gloucester Township Police Ptl. Paul Bertini conducted the traffic stop on Blackwood Clementon Road at around 11:35 p.m., according to Lt. Edward Bryant.

At the same time as the traffic stop, police dispatch received a report that an individual was armed with a shotgun at the Little Gloucester Road Wawa.

Police allege the passenger in Bertini's traffic stop—Janora Carter, 25, of Park Boulevard, Camden—made the 911 call with the hope she and driver Robert Webb, 28, would be sent on their way as police responded to Wawa on the gun call.

Webb, of Denfield Street, Camden, was arrested on several outstanding warrants. Also charged with hindering apprehension for allegedly providing police with false name, Webb was lodged in Camden County Jail on $2,224 bail.
