Police: Drunk Woman Assaults Cop, EMT on Bus

A Camden woman is accused of punching an EMT and a cop on a New Jersey Transit bus early Wednesday.

A Camden woman who reportedly was intoxicated and falling in and out of consciousness on a New Jersey Transit bus early Wednesday as the vehicle cruised through Gloucester Township is accused of assaulting an EMT and a police officer dispatched to assist her.

Gloucester Township Police patrol units and a Kennedy Health System ambulance were dispatched to the area of Jarvis Road and Sicklerville Road, in the township's Erial section, at 3:09 a.m. to render aid to the woman, identified by police as Tiesha Y. Dean, 28, of Kenwood Avenue, Camden.

Dean allegedly punched a Kennedy employee in the head and then repeatedly punched a police officer in the head.

The officer used his pepper spray to subdue Dean, who was taken into custody and charged with two counts of aggravated assault, according to Police Capt. Anthony Minosse. She was lodged in Camden County Jail on $15,000 bail.

The Kennedy employee did not sustain any injuries, Minosse said. The officer, whom police did not identify in a press release, was taken to a local emergency room for observation of minor injuries.

There were no other passengers on the bus at the time of the incident, according to police.
