Police: Gloucester Township Day Traffic Advisory

Police advise motorists to avoid Chews Landing Road near Veterans Memorial Park Saturday.

Gloucester Township Police Department issued the following traffic advisory Thursday afternoon:

On Saturday, June 2, the annual Gloucester Township Day community event will be occurring at Vets Park located adjacent to the municipal building, 1261 Chews Landing Rd. The event begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 9 p.m. with a fireworks display.  

During the event, heavy pedestrian and vehicle traffic is expected along Chews Landing Road, Little Gloucester Road, Kelly Drivers Lane and Hider Lane. Additionally, drivers should be cautious of pedestrians in the neighborhoods surrounding the park.

Officers will be on location assisting with pedestrian crossings and will be directing traffic after the fireworks are completed.

Drivers are advised to use caution when in the area and seek an alternate route of travel to avoid delays.
