Police: Man Leaves Court, Steals Bike

Thanks to help from a witness, it didn't take long for police to catch up to the suspect.

Some people just don't like to walk.

Police say a Runnemede man stole a bike from a nearby gas station Tuesday afternoon shortly after he was dismissed from Gloucester Township Municipal Court.

Jonathan R. Delviscio, 32, of the 800 block of Crescent Avenue, Runnemede, was dismissed from the court at about 3:06 p.m., according to Gloucester Township Police Sgt. Jack Swack. He proceeded across Chews Landing Road to the Sunoco gas station, where he allegedly stole an employee's bike.

A witness, who had just finished shopping at the gas station's A Plus convenience store, followed the suspect and bike while talking to police dispatchers, who sent officers to the caller's location.

Police quickly caught up to and arrested Delviscio on the charge of theft.

Delviscio was found to be in possession of an unspecified controlled dangerous substance subsequent to his arrest and was charged with the drug possession offense, Swack said. He was lodged in Camden County Jail on $500 bail.
