Police: Man Stole Almost $500 in Merchandise from Kmart

The suspect used two purses to load up electronics, then fled from the Blackwood Clementon Road store.

Gloucester Township Police hope the public can help identify the man they say stole nearly $500 in merchandise from the Blackwood Clementon Road Kmart during a visit there last week.

The shoplifting incident occurred Tuesday, June 12, at around 3:15 p.m.

Police have released photos of the suspect, which were captured by the store's surveillance cameras, through the township's Crime Stoppers program.

The suspect entered the store, grabbed two Joe Boxer purses, then proceeded to the electronics section. The suspect then filled the purses with various electronics items.

Police described the suspect as a black male who had facial hair and was wearing a dark green jacket, light-colored T-shirt and blue jeans at the time of the theft.

The store's merchandise security alarms were activated when the suspect fled the store.
