Police: Resident Thwarts Burglar, Arrests Follow

The victim was able to provide police with suspect and vehicle descriptions.

Police charged three people with burglary-related offenses after an Erial resident thwarted a home break-in late Tuesday morning.

Gloucester Township Police were dispatched to a home on the 700 block of Hickstown Road at 11:32 a.m. on a report a man had forced open the front door there.

The victim, who was home at the time of the burglary and apparently scared off the burglars, was able to provide descriptions of the suspects and the vehicle they was traveling in, police said.

Police located a car matching the description provided by the victim heading north on Route 42 and stopped it in Deptford Township a short time later. All three adult occupants were taken into custody without incident, according to police.

The victim positively identified the three individuals as those observed outside of the Hickstown Road home following the burglary, police said.

Marvin A. Pollitt, 41, of Lawnside, was charged with third-degree burglary. David Murphy III, 31, of Lawnside, and Angela Adams, 38, of Sicklerville, were charged with third-degree conspiracy to commit burglary.

Pollitt, Murphy and Adams were lodged in Camden County Jail on $20,000 bail, police said.
