Police Searching for Stabbing Suspect

A 22-year-old man was stabbed after an argument in the township's Sicklerville section late Thursday, police said.

Police have identified a suspect in a stabbing late Thursday that injured a 22-year-old man. 

About 9:45 p.m. Thursday, township police were dispatched to the 500 block of Loch Lomond Drive in the township's Sicklerville section for a report of an altercation. 

When officers arrived they learned the victim had been stabbed in the back while standing in the street following an argument. Gloucester Township Emergency Medical Services treated the man for a laceration to his back.

The suspect fled the scene after the stabbing. Officers canvassed the area during an extensive search, but were unable to locate the perpetrator. Police identified the suspect, but no arrest has been made, and the incident remains under investigation. 

The victim, whose name was not released, was transported to Kennedy University Hospital in Stratford for treatment of minor injuries and is expected to be released.

Police noted the incident was not a random act, and that the victim and the suspect know each other.
