Police Seek Help ID'ing Cigarette Thief

Police released surveillance video that shows a woman grab two cartons of cigarettes and run out of a Blackwood Wawa.

Police on Wednesday released a surveillance video showing a woman fleeing from a Blackwood Wawa with two cartons of cigarettes for which she had not paid.

The theft occurred at the Wawa at Little Gloucester and Erial roads on Tuesday, Aug. 30, at around 2:30 p.m., police said.

The video shows the woman grabbed two cartons of Newport cigarettes off the counter immediately after she appeared to fake an attempt to swipe a credit or debit card through the store's card-reading machine. The suspect then ran from the store and, according to police, fled in a black SUV.

Police have described the suspect as a thin, white female who appears to be in her 20s.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact police at 856-228-4500, call the township's anonymous crime tip line at 856-842-5560, or send an email to police@gtpolice.com.

Isn't there an overhead camera that faces the counter & cash register that may have caught the name & address on that idiot's ID? Can anyone read what her bag said? I'll keep an eye peeled for this chicky lala, but I think more can be ascertained from the store's surveillance, or at least I hope so. Camera prices have come down big time. Anyhoo: hook her, book her & cook her!

P.S. It's obvious she has someone waiting in a car for her in the parking lot. Check the outdoor cameras to see if the license plate is legible or to at least see the make & model of the vehicle.
