Police Seek Kmart Slipper Thieves

Police say one suspect took off the slippers he was wearing and left the Blackwood Clementon Road store in a new pair and carrying another in a backpack.

Police hope the release of surveillance video footage will help them identify a young man they say took off his old slippers and walked out of the Blackwood Clementon Road Kmart wearing a new pair and carrying another early last month.

The alleged shoplifting incident occurred around 2:50 p.m. on Dec. 8.

Gloucester Township Police described the suspect as a young, light-skinned black male. He was wearing a maroon, hooded "A & F" sweatshirt, tan pants and a backpack when he committed the alleged theft.
