Police Seek Kmart Slipper Thieves
Police say one suspect took off the slippers he was wearing and left the Blackwood Clementon Road store in a new pair and carrying another in a backpack.
Police hope the release of surveillance video footage will help them identify a young man they say took off his old slippers and walked out of the Blackwood Clementon Road Kmart wearing a new pair and carrying another early last month.
The alleged shoplifting incident occurred around 2:50 p.m. on Dec. 8.
Gloucester Township Police described the suspect as a young, light-skinned black male. He was wearing a maroon, hooded "A & F" sweatshirt, tan pants and a backpack when he committed the alleged theft.

Police allege the shoplifting suspect took off the slippers he was wearing when he and another male entered the store together, put on a new pair and concealed a second pair in the backpack. The two males fled on foot when confronted by store security at the front of the store, police said.
Police described the second suspect as a dark-skinned black male. He was wearing a "Celtics" winter wool hat, a dark sweatshirt, eyeglasses and blue jeans.
