Police Seeking Drug Store Robbers

What started as an alleged shoplifting incident became a robbery when one of the suspects shoved a store employee, police say.

Police have released video surveillance of an alleged shoplifting incident at the Blackwood Clementon Road Rite Aid that turned into a robbery when one of two suspects engaged in a struggle with a store employee.

The incident occurred around 5:20 p.m. Friday, according to police.

The suspect who struggled with a female employee is a light-skinned black female who is approximately 4 feet, 9 inches tall and 120 pounds, police said. She was wearing a tan, waist-length jacket and her hair was pulled up in a hair net.

The second suspect is described as a dark-skinned black female who is about 5 feet, 2 inches tall and 110 pounds, police said. She was wearing jeans and a white, short-sleeved shirt.

The video shows the store employee approach the two suspects in an aisle. The three of them begin moving toward the front of the store, with the employee leading the way, when it appears the taller suspect removes an item, or items, from a bag and puts it on a store shelf.
