Update: Police Release Vehicle Description in Hit-And-Run Case

A woman was struck Wednesday night at Erial and Garwood roads.

UPDATE: Police this afternoon released a vehicle description for the car that struck a woman on Wednesday evening at Erial and Garwod roads.

The vehicle has been identified as a 1997-2002 Ford Escort, four-door, possibly dark in color.  The vehicle possibly has front, driver side damage.  The vehicle is missing the driver side mirror housing unit, which is  black in color. The mirror itself may still be attached to the vehicle.

UPDATE: Police this evening released additional information about the car that struck a woman at Erial and Garwood roads and then fled the scene. 

The woman, whose name and age have not been released, is in stable condition at Cooper University Hospital in Camden with a broken leg and a broken nose.

Police said a broken drivers’ side mirror housing was found at the scene. The housing is black and is believed to belong to a General Motors brand vehicle. The vehicle may have the internal mirror attachment, wires and mirror glass still attached to the driver's side. Police released two photos of the housing.

Township police are seeking the public's help in locating a driver who struck a woman with their car and then left the scene. 

The incident happened at 8:09 p.m. Wednesday at Erial and Garwood roads. 

The woman, whose name and age have not been released, was struck by a dark-colored sedan. The vehicle may have damage to its front, and driver's side front quarter panel. Police also believe one of the vehicle's side mirrors might have been damaged, and could be hanging from the vehicle. 

The woman was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden for treatment of a possible broken nose and a broken right leg. Her injuries were not life-threatening, according to police. 

The Gloucester Township Police Traffic Safety Bureau is investigating the crash.
