Police Seeking Suspect in Road Rage Incident

Police recovered two handguns and a stun gun during the investigation, which resulted in the alleged driver's arrest.

Police have charged a Lindenwold man as the driver in a road rage incident that involved a gun Tuesday night at Laurel Hill Plaza.

The passenger, who reportedly brandished the handgun during the incident at the College Drive shopping center, ran from police after the car he was traveling in stopped on Erial Road, near Hickstown Road, in the township's Erial section.

The gun-wielding suspect remained at large as of Wednesday afternoon.

A police officer spotted the suspect vehicle on Erial Road shortly after the road rage incident was reported.

The car's driver, 36-year-old Jerome Thomas, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon after an electric stun gun was found in the car, according to police.

Thomas was released after he posted bail on the weapon charge.

Police recovered two handguns on the GEMS Landfill property while searching for the suspect, Deputy Chief David Harkins said.

The road rage incident was called in to police at about 8:55 p.m. Tuesday.

Police did not describe the suspect vehicle, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.
