Robber Threatens to Shoot Man in East Camden, Police Say

The incident happened late Wednesday night, police said.

A Burlington County man who told a pedestrian in East Camden he’d shoot him if the victim didn’t cooperate was arrested not long after the robbery Wednesday night, Camden County Police said.

Lamont B. Lewis, 31, of Hainesport, walked up to another man near the intersection of Freemont and Burwood avenues, near Woodrow Wilson High School, around 11 p.m. and made the threat, police said, making off with the victim’s wallet after jumping into a car that pulled up to the scene.

After the victim gave a description of Lewis and the car, officers checked the area, and Officer Angel Camacho spotted a man matching the victim’s description a little more than eight blocks away, at Federal Street and Terrace Avenue.
