Runners Keep Carol Reiff's Unsolved Death in Spotlight

A month after the Gloucester Twp. woman was found dead in the woods, friends want to keep her case in people's minds.

A month after she was reported missing and later found dead, mystery still surounds Carol Reiff's death.

The 59-year-old's body was discovered June 24 in a wooded area near the Lakeview Apartment complex where she lived. Although she had been missing only a few days, Reiff's remains were so badly decomposed that authorities needed to use dental records for identification.

Reiff's death was prominent in the news in the days before and after her body was found, but friends are worried that it will fade from the public as more time passes. The Southern Ocean Ladies Running Club, of which Reiff was a founding member, held a "virtual run" this week in her honor.

The club asked people to run in Reiff's memory, wherever they happened to be. Many submitted photos to the club of Unite for Carol's Cause runs already in New Jersey, and one as far away as South Carolina. Reiff's daughter, Dawn Centanni, also was a founding and current member of the running club. She came out in the days after Reiff's death to plead for information

A reward fund for information about Reiff's death has been established. Proceeds from the running club's virtual run will go to the fund.
