Shoplifting Suspect Turns Himself in to GT Police

Kevin Renz, 19, of Turnersville, turned himself in over the weekend after he saw himself on surveillance footage of a reported shoplifting incident at Rite Aid on Jan. 17, police say.

A man wanted in connection with an alleged shoplifting incident at the Rite Aid on Blackwood-Clementon Road turned himself in to Gloucester Township Police.

Kevin Renz, 19, of Turnersville, turned himself in at the police station on Saturday after seeing footage of the incident on social media. Gloucester Township Police released surveillance video of the Jan. 17 incident on Jan. 22.

The video showed Renz, along with a female suspect, allegedly taking several items, later identified as cold medications. Police say the pair hid the items in their clothing and then fled the scene in a red, four-door vehicle.

Renz was charged with shoplifting and released on a criminal summons. Gloucester Township Police have received numerous tips about the female suspect, but so far she remains unidentified.
