State Police Hope Tattoo Photos Lead to Victim ID

A woman was killed when she was struck by several cars while walking along Route 42 early Sunday.

State police have released photographs of two tattoos near the feet of a woman struck by several cars and killed as she walked along Route 42, in Blackwood, early Sunday.

The fatal accident, which occurred near milepost 9.4, was reported to state police at 1:19 a.m.

The victim is described as being white with dirty blond or brown hair and brown eyes, according to state police spokesman Sgt. Brian Polite. She was wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans shorts (size 9) and black flip flops, as well as a blue rubber band around her left wrist.

The victim had a tattoo on her left ankle of a red heart with the name "Mandy" written on it. On her right foot, she had a tattoo of a butterfly with a shooting star from ankle to toes.

Investigation by Bellmawr-based state troopers revealed the woman was walking in the median on Route 42 when she entered the left, northbound lane and was struck by a black 2005 BMW, Polite said. She was subsequently struck by several other vehicles.

All drivers remained at the scene and were interviewed by detectives.
