Teens Arrested in Connection With Camden Man's Murder

One was charged with murder, the other with hindering apprehension in the murder of Jason Williams Saturday morning.

A pair of 17-year-olds have been charged in connection with the murder of a Camden man that took place on Saturday, Camden County Prosecutor Warren W. Faulk and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson announced Monday afternoon.

A 17-year-old Camden male was arrested Sunday at 9:30 p.m. and charged with murder in the shooting death of 33-year-old Jason Williams, of Camden.

He allegedly shot Williams multiple times outside a unit of the Crestbury Apartments in Camden about 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

He surrendered at the Camden County Metro Police Department.

Another Camden 17-year-old has been charged with hindering apprehension and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose in connection with the murder. He is accused of helping the murder defendant conceal the weapon used in the shooting.

Law enforcement officers recovered that weapon. Both teens are being held at the Camden County Youth Detention Center.
