Township Police Will Test Mass Notification Phone System Wednesday

Gloucester Township police will try to reach every home and business.

If you get a call from the Gloucester Township Police around 6 p.m. Wednesday, don't panic.

They will be conducting a periodic test of the township's Community Phone Notification System. The test will help ensure the system can be relied upon in an emergency. It will call each township home and business with a prerecorded test message.

Typical uses of the system include: evacuation, shelter in place and severe hazardous weather notices, or endangered missing persons. It was used numerous times during Hurricane Sandy.
