Township Police Win NJ Law Enforcement Challenge, Again

It recognizes and awards the best overall traffic safety programs in New Jersey.

Another day, another honor for Gloucester Township police.

This time the locals were singled out as the top department in the state for traffic-safety education and enforcement. It's the second straight year they've won the New Jersey Law Enforcement Challenge.

The department won a $900 traffic radar system for speed enforcement for it's top place finish.

The law enforcement challenge recognizes and awards the best overall traffic safety programs in New Jersey. The areas of concentration include enforcement and educational efforts in speeding, impaired driving and occupant protection. The winning programs are those that combine enforcement and educational efforts along with officer training to effectively reduce motor vehicle crashes within their jurisdictions.

The New Jersey Law Enforcement Challenge is sponsored by the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police, the New Jersey Office of Highway Traffic Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
