Three Triton Regional High School teachers are being investigated by the Camden County Prosecutor's Office for alleged misconduct involving now-former students.
The three teachers were placed on administrative leave at separate times late this summer and earlier in the school year, according to sources.
The now-former students reportedly graduated from Triton in June. The alleged misconduct, however, occurred while the students still attended the Runnemede school.
Patch has confirmed the ongoing investigation with several sources over the past week. The sources requested anonymity because they are not authorized to speak publicly about the investigation.
Patch has learned the identities of the three teachers who are being investigated for alleged misconduct, but is withholding their names pending the investigation's outcome.
Camden County Prosecutor's Office spokesman Jason Laughlin declined to comment for this report. He previously indicated he could not confirm or deny the existence of the investigation.
Triton is part of the Black Horse Pike Regional School District. The school draws students from three Camden County towns: Bellmawr, Gloucester Township and Runnemede. About 1,600 students attend Triton.
Gloucester Township Police Department has not been involved in the investigation.
A message left for Black Horse Pike Regional School District Superintendent John Golden on Wednesday morning was not returned. Like Laughlin, he previously declined to confirm or deny the existence of the investigation.

HA, the point of social media then?
5 charged.. 3 teachers and the vice principal and principal!!!
We're absolutely not trying to play gatekeeper on legitimate comments, but rather, given the sensitive nature of the investigation, avoid speculations and "naming names" before any charges on filed. To that end, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office is holding a press conference at 3 p.m. today and we'll have an updated soon story after.
These are most always people in a position of "trust" and "authority." These acts are horrible and so very damaging and traumatic to children that even with years of therapy a majority never goes on to live a happy and "normal" life. These perverts will get "time-out," a few years of probation, a slap on the wrist, and they go on their merry way to repeat their abuse with other children. When will we, as good citizens, as caring protectors of the children in our country finally going to put a stop to this? It seems to have reached a point where many people are simply numb to this trauma as it happens all of the time. They give a "too bad" and go on with their lives. If this was your child; when it hits home, that is when people react and act. There are a few good groups in America who work to save these chldren and who work to stop these perverts who should never be allowed near a child. One that I have followed for decades is Focus Adolescent Services, Focusas.com. They save the lives of American children. They have a feee national help line for parents and for professionals. Do something please people. Support our children, stop this! People give more to save a snail or a bird than to save innocent little children. Send a donation, ten bucks or ten thousand bucks to them or a group whose work you like. This is insane.
At least now that it's all out, people can stop posting ominous comments in unrelated article threads about why the teachers at Triton were "mysteriously transferred" and no one was reporting it. Now we know. I'm sure had Patch known sooner, they would have reported it.
I think the point is, that if these accusations are true, regardless of whether or not the girls agreed to a sexual relationship with these teachers, it was still illegal. And they knew that. These men were in a position of power, and whether or not the girls consented to the relationships), it was their obligation to know better and to do better. If the charges are true, at the VERY least they abused their power, violated the code of conduct and ethics that goes with their job title, and basically just used extremely poor judgment. Was it sexual asault? Well, maybe not in the eyes of some, but in the eyes of the law it will be if they are proven guilty- and really, as adults and educators, shouldn't they just have simply known better. Why risk it? Why throw your career away? Sad. Very sad all around.
Teresa, a minor is a minor regardless...these men were adults and the students should have never been put in that situation. As for the principle and vice principle...a disgrace that they tried to cover this up! I hope they all lose their jobs, pension and go to jail for a long time!
We tend to look at things with a different eye when it hits home. Personally, my guard is always up when it comes to my children. But thank you for your concern.
*** For people who will be sending his/ her child to Triton do not worry , it is not as bad as it seems.
***As far as anyone questioning whether or not to send their child/ren to Triton i wouldn't hesitate to send them the school is an alround good school .
