Video of Camden Man's Fall During Police Chase Released

Xavier Ingram allegedly had a gun stolen out of Gloucester Township and bags of heroin. A video of the incident was posted on the Courier Post's website.

The Courier Post has posted a video of the incident in which a Camden man was paralyzed after falling while running from police on June 12.

The video was provided to the newspaper by a law enforcement official, but the attorney for Xavier Ingram says the video is incomplete and doesn't support the officers' story that there was no misconduct in the incident, according to the report.

Ingram, 21, slipped and fell on a wet road while running across 7th Street near the intersection with Chestnut Street in Camden.

The pursuit began when officers noticed Ingram had a gun in his waistband. The gun was allegedly reported stolen out of Gloucester Township.

Officers handcuffed Ingram, who told them he couldn't feel his legs. Officers stabilized his legs and neck, and he was subsequently treated at Cooper Hospital in Camden.

Ingram allegedly had bags of heroin on his person.

He was charged with receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, being a certain person not to possess a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and drug possession.

The Camden County Prosecutor's Office conducted an investigation into the officers' conduct.

According to Ingram's attorney, there was a second person involved in the incident who questioned the officers' actions and was allegedly assaulted by authorities, according to the report.
