Police were dispatched to the convenience store in the township's Hilltop section at 12:07 p.m. on a report a car had crashed into the building, Gloucester Township Police Lt. Bob Stavola Jr. said.

Responding officers found Adele F. Lawton, 55, of Magnolia, had driven her blue 1998 Ford Crown Victoria over the curb, onto the sidewalk and into the front plate glass windows and wall of the convenience store, according to Stavola.

Lawton was cited for careless driving.

The crash remains under investigation.
