No one is injured when a woman allegedly drives a car into Friendly Food Mart Thursday around noon.

UPDATE, 12:02 p.m. 1/25: Friendly Food Mart has reopened after a woman drove her car into the store around noon Thursday.

Police indicated Thursday afternoon the Gloucester Township building inspector had ordered the store remain closed until repairs could be made.

No one was injured when a motorist drove her car through the front of the Black Horse Pike's Friendly Food Mart around noon Thursday, according to police.

The Gloucester Township building inspector ordered the store remain closed until necessary repairs can be made.

Police were dispatched to the convenience store in the township's Hilltop section at 12:07 p.m. on a report a car had crashed into the building, Gloucester Township Police Lt. Bob Stavola Jr. said.

Responding officers found Adele F. Lawton, 55, of Magnolia, had driven her blue 1998 Ford Crown Victoria over the curb, onto the sidewalk and into the front plate glass windows and wall of the convenience store, according to Stavola.

Lawton was cited for careless driving.

The crash remains under investigation.
