UPDATE: Woman Fatally Shot While Housesitting On Mayflower Drive Identified

Kathleen Korbel, of the Grenloch section of Washington Township, was shot to death Friday while housesitting in Gloucester Township.

Kathleen Korbel was identified Saturday as the women who was found shot to death Friday in a home on Mayflower Drive in Gloucester Township. 

The 54-year-old Washington Township woman was housesitting at the residence. Police discovered her body, which had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, around 5 p.m. Friday. She was not immediately identified, pending notification of relatives.

No other information about her death, or the owners of the home, was released as of 7:50 p.m. Saturday. Korbel's shooting is the third criminal investigation into deaths here since June. 

The remains of Carol Reiff were found in a wooded area of the Lakeview Apartments on Lower Landing Road on June 24. There is a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest for her unsolved death.

Lamar Ortiz, 20, was gunned down on July 15 outside of his residence at the Autumn Ridge Apartments on Little Gloucester Road. A 16-year-old Edgewater Park boy was arrested and charged in the killing.
