Police have released surveillance images of a man wanted for robbing a woman of her purse outside of the Berlin-Cross Keys Road Wawa store this week.
Gloucester Township Police describe the suspect as a black male who is 6 feet to 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs about 190 pounds.
The suspect was clean-shaven, had a close-cropped haircut and was wearing a large, white T-shirt and dark-colored shorts at the time of the robbery, which occurred outside of the Sicklerville store at approximately 7:45 a.m. Monday, according to police.
He demanded and then ripped the purse from beneath the victim's arm, according to a police statement.
Police added that the suspect left the area in a medium-green or blue, late 1990s or early 2000s Jeep Grand Cherokee, taking Cross Keys Road to the Atlantic City Expressway.
The victim was not harmed in the incident, police said. Her purse contained cash and personal effects.
Authorities believe the suspect may be the same man responsible for similar strong-arm robberies in Runnemede and Washington Township. Those crimes occurred within a few hours of the Sicklerville Wawa robbery, police said.
The Runnemede robbery occurred around 9 a.m., according to reports.
Police urge anyone who may be able to identify the suspect to call police dispatch at 856-228-4500 or the township's anoymous crime tip line at 856-842-5560, or send an email to email@example.com.
