Camden County Hosting Roundtable on Veterans Benefits and Services

The panel will feature experts on a wide range of veterans' issues.

Camden County submitted the following news release regarding a roundtable discussion on veterans' issues to be held in Blackwood on Wednesday:

The freeholder board and Camden County Veterans Advisory Committee will hold a roundtable discussion on benefits and services available to veterans. The panel will feature experts on a wide range of veterans' issues including housing, counseling, education, employment and medals.

“We encourage everyone interested in learning more about the benefits and services that our veterans have earned to attend this event,” said Freeholder Deputy Director Edward T. McDonnell, liaison to the Camden County Office of Veterans Affairs. “This is the first time that we are holding this informational forum that we plan on making an annual event.”

The roundtable discussion will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Blackwood Armed Forces Reserve Center, 390 Woodbury-Turnersville Rd., in the Blackwood section of Gloucester Township.

In this period of time, with so many new veterans returning home from combat operations overseas, it is critical to provide workshops like this to educate our men and women in uniform of their benefits. In addition to our new veterans, the county also has 33,105 current veterans living within our 222 square miles.
