County Collects E-Waste Saturday in Lindenwold

Items included in the collection will be TVs, VCRs and computers.

The Camden County Freeholder Board is hosting an electronics recycling collection day Saturday in Lindenwold.

Many items that were previously solid waste, including TVs and computers, are now considered e-waste and can't be put curbside for collection anymore.

Those items can be dropped off Saturday, March 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Camden County Public Works Complex, located at 2311 Egg Harbor Road in Lindenwold.

Items that will be collected at no charge include: computers, keyboards, VCRs, scanners, DVD players, tape players, monitors, stereo equipment, typewriters, printers, TVs, laptops, modems, telecommunication equipment, fax machines, adios, answering machines and telephones.

“Recycling these items will prevent harmful materials such as lead, mercury, cadmium and chromium from being released into the environment,” Freeholder Jeffrey Nash, liaison to the Camden County Division of Environmental Affairs, said. “With such rapid advancements in technology, I’m sure there are residents out there with electronics piling up in their homes and garages- multiple computers or phones for example. If you bring those electronics to this free event, everything will either be refurbished for future use or recycled to help protect the environment.”

For a complete list of what to bring, and for upcoming recycling events, visit the county website.
