Save Your Rown Rally and Petition Signature Gathering

South Jersey Citizens and Rock the Vote are holding a Rally and signature gathering session in support of the Pay to Play Reform ordinance.

Pay to Play is the legal practice where council members or the mayor receive large campaign contributions from vendors and individuals and in return give them lucrative no-bid contracts and appointments to paid positions within the town.

South Jersey Citizens is collecting signatures to enact an ordinance that will stop this practice.  To date, council has refused to post this for a vote and are stalling.  This is because since January 2010, they have raised over $150k from connected firms and individuals.
