Former Congressman Rob Andrews Spent $275,000 on Legal Firms During Ethics Investigation

Former Congressman Rob Andrews hired three law firms to help him handle an ethics investigation earlier this year, the Courier Post reports.

On Jan. 3, Andrews paid $25,300 to a firm out of Washington, D.C.  that handles ethics investigations, according to the report.

Andrews spent a total of $275,000 on three firms amid the House Ethics Committee’s investigation into his campaign spending, according to the report.

Andrews resigned on Feb. 4 to take a position with Dilworth Paxson.

A special election to fill his Third Congressional District seat will be held on Nov. 4, the same day as the general election. The primaries take place June 3.

The Democratic Primary includes State Sen. Donald Norcross, of Camden, brother of Democratic powerbroker George Norcross; Logan Mayor Frank Minor; and Sicklerville resident Frank Broomell Jr.

The Republican Primary includes former Philadelphia Eagle and Garry Cobb, of Cherry Hill, former Collingswood school board member Claire Gustaphson, Greenwich resident Lee Lucas and Winslow resident Gerard McManus.

The First Congressional District covers parts of Camden, Gloucester and Burlington counties.
