LIHEAP Offers Customers Assistance in Paying Electric Bills

An extremely cold winter can result in unusually high bills for some customers.

The Camden County Freeholder Board and Atlantic City Electric are reminding customers they have numerous options to apply for energy assistance if they are having difficulty paying their bills.

“Our partners at Atlantic City Electric are joining us in connecting homeowners with needed services and assistance,” Camden County Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. said.  “Many residents are unaware that these valuable resources are available to assist them and their families.”

Due to the winter’s extremely cold temperatures and potentially high energy bills, the federally funded Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) has extended its application deadline and emergency assistance request period to June 30.
