GOP to Challenge Mayor, 3 Council Members in Fall Election

Four Democrats and four Republicans filed petitions to run for public office on Monday.

Incumbent township Mayor David Mayer and three council members will be challenged by a slate of Republican candidates in the fall general election.

All eight candidates filed nominating petitions with the municipal clerk on Monday, the deadline to declare for the fall election.

Incumbent candidates include Mayer and fellow Democrats Dan Hutchison, Frank Schmidt and Michelle Winters. Republican candidates are Tanya Brown for mayor; Paul DiBartolo, Patricia Kline and Joseph Pauli for council.
