Gloucester Township Mayor David Mayer will be sworn in to his second term Saturday by U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez, according to an announcement released Tuesday.

The ceremony will occur during the annual reorganization of the township council and will be held at Timber Creek High School, 501 Jarvis Road, at noon. The event is open to the public.

Mayer won reelection by better than a 2-to-1 margin in November.

>> "Mayer won reelection by better than a 2-to-1 margin in November." Yes, he did Patch and Mr. Duhart. He also won by outspending his opponents by a margin of about 15-to-1. Is that not news as worthy as telling us that he won by a 2-to-1 margin? Do you people know anything about truth in reporting?

I wonder if he will show up for this since he cannot make a Township council meeting.

Yes he did Paul and he got all that money from people who want the corruption to continue in their favor not from average hard working taxpayers. I too wonder when will people stand up for real change, can't complain and wait for just a few to do it for you.

Darren, will you please give me "a tissue for my issue." I have no regrets, Darren, I'm just turning the lights on and stating the obvious, after all, that is my favorite past-time.

Birds of a feather goes the old saying. Bob Menendez has been plagued with allegations of adultery with a married newspaper publisher and visiting prostitutes in the Dominican Republic. What better person to swear in our very own Dave Mayer.

Who wants Menendez to boost anyone into a position of leadership? This Menendez guy has a lot of questions to answer. We have a lot of brain dead people in South Jersey but this reaches the limits of what can be tolerated. Tell Menendez to go sit down with the rest of the scam artist and read the Obamacare package - That's where the redemption is!
