Andre Bademos February 28, 2013 at 11:53 PM
OK Stache's Minion you seem to be 0 for 2 now because again just like the first article the word municipal was not used....I would normally say good try but that one was even more lame then your first attempt to discredit this mayor. Great Job Mayor Mayer just like the article in today's paper says your Town Hall meeting that cost the tax payers nothing and was billed as "A ringing success" congratulations Mayor Mayer on a job well done.

Susan Greene March 01, 2013 at 04:23 AM
No one complained when any other bar opened in G.T. prior to Mayor taking office. Shame, you waste your life in G.T. harassing and complaining about everything we do here. Go Home and try cleaning up your own town, Oh that's right , they hate you also from what I hear they don't want you either. As a matter of fact I think you should move to Liartown, North Baseless USA, then you could be Mayor. I guess your against the Stone Grill because your so used to hanging in sleazy places where you can spin your crap to people who have had 10 to many drinks.

Honestly, I can't be dissatisfied with recycling, it does save debris from landfills and it does save a municipality $$. Having said that, the Mayors #'s made no sense. He claimed he saved 1.7 million with shared picked-up and another $400 thou from recycling. That sounds good. He than suggested the recycling (combined items) program saved 61 metric tons from the landfill. I honestly forget the initial # he provided representing what our initial trash weight was, but I don't think it was well over 100 metric tons. If we are recycling close to or over 1/2 of out output, the saving should be more than $400 thou is our overall cost exceeded 1.7 mil to begin with. The math just did not work for me. However, I find most of the math coming from the Mayor and Council is questionable. Like his solar power generation figure of 6 Megawatts? Over what period, a decade?
Darren Gladden March 01, 2013 at 02:11 PM
Don't hit them with FACTS "Debbie the hacks don't like that ..........
Debbie Shinn March 01, 2013 at 02:29 PM
WOW, thanks a stretch Susan. You don't know me. Your post can't be directed at me because it doesn't remotely fit me or any situation even remotely related to me. But, Don't get discouraged, eventually something you throw at the wall might stick. Good luck.
Debbie Shinn March 01, 2013 at 02:51 PM
Are the unfounded attacks against me the way you support other residents who have concerns or issued with how poor choices being made by our municiple representatives? I quote you: "I;m all for people coming and asking questions, presentiong ideas and stating their concerns to our leadership. But this is insane, I wish more people would come to council or watch online" I quess you only feel that way if people are going to follow you or agreed with you. If someone does not agree with you then the response you provide is as silly as the one above directed at me? BTW, it really is a silly post... I quote you again: "I'm not afraid of bullies."

Question for you Susan, let me quote you again: "harassing and complaining about everything we do here." Who is WE? Are you a member of the township administration?
Pete Heinbaugh March 01, 2013 at 03:14 PM
GTW: I was on the call, and did not vote "5" for this poll question. I understand that you are frustrated with GT government, and I realize that this town hall and the poll questions were slanted; but, are you really "very dissatisfied" with the recycling program, or were you just rigging the poll?
Joe Kearney March 02, 2013 at 04:01 PM
I was interrupted while watching "The Big Bang Theory" to be told about Solar Panels and trash cans....This has got to stop. Sheldon was just about to make fun of Penny for mooching dinner off of the guys it was Pizza, when I got the call that faithful night......I will never forget that call.......
Paul J. DiBartolo March 02, 2013 at 04:11 PM
I wonder why I never got the call? Hey, maybe switching to Magic Jack and dumping my old number really did pay off. I love it when a plan comes together.
Great Job Gt March 03, 2013 at 12:19 AM
Paula DiBartolo (aka boring blogs). Gt really doesn't care what you have to say. Do you blame the Mayer for not calling you. The mayor would fall asleep after hearing you. Are you running for Mayor against the great Dave Mayer. Let us know?
Paul J. DiBartolo March 03, 2013 at 12:35 AM
How do you live with yourself? Take a poll and see how many people on here actually want to have to scroll through your constant regurgitation of the same old stuff. Whether your criticisms of me are founded in truth or not, you make me look like a genius. Why don't you take a pill and give it a rest?
Great Job Gt March 03, 2013 at 12:39 AM
Paula (aka boring a blogs). You're pretty smart and educated. How many people live in gt??????
Debbie Shinn March 03, 2013 at 01:36 AM
I hae listened to the recording and need to correct my post above about shared disposal savings. The mayor said the projected savings from trash collection is 1.7 mil over 5 years. I mis-stated the number above. There was no savings projection provide for recycle, only tht we increased 40% and we make $$ selling some of the waste. win/win. How much? Don't know. We have saved about $70 thou on disposal costs. There, I have corrected myself.
Debbie Shinn March 03, 2013 at 01:46 AM
About the solar project. I believe the mayor accidentally mis-quoted the capacity when he said 6 megawatts. 2 of the largest sky-scrapers in the city don't require that much load. Having said that, the panels will provide energy that can be purchased at market rates unless we have contracted for a set price or a price set below market. The contractor will own all the energy put on the grid. This type of plan can work really well based on how the township contracted the buy back for the energy. I am confident they consulted an analyst who helped them with this project to ensure the returns they have been told to expect.
Debbie Shinn March 03, 2013 at 02:04 AM
I am not critizing the mayor in any way about the solar project. It's a wonderful endeavor and I commend his intensions. The deregulation of electric generation is a really new an evolving market. The product of electricity is now subject to the whims of the open market.
Joe Kearney March 03, 2013 at 02:07 AM
Hey Leave my Paul alone he makes some great points and don't need to be bullied by you "Great Job GT" He has the courage to use his name unlike you!
Great Job Gt March 04, 2013 at 02:40 AM
I got some bad news. I will be leaving for Florida first thing in the morning. It's been fun but business first.............I hope you guys and gals have some good debates. Remember everyone is entitled to their opinions. Take care.......
Debbie Shinn March 04, 2013 at 02:45 AM
Be safe Gt.
Great Job Gt March 04, 2013 at 02:50 AM
I will. Be nice to Paul he means well. Continue your debates.....god bless America.
Susan Greene March 04, 2013 at 01:14 PM
Have a safe trip GJGT, when will you return? It's a shame you won't be here for the hearing on Wed., You know, the former councilwoman hearing. I know everyone is waiting to see if the comments will be reviewed and sequestered again by Patch Staff. Maybe not, because all the personal attacks on the Mayor just this week obviously haven't been reviewed and removed. I hope that they" Patch" are not holding a "former Councilwoman " in higher regard than a seated Mayor like they have been doing in the past. Maybe the new Editor in Chief will be more balanced on Patch policy. Hurry back , I can't believe you are going to leave me alone with all of the "I hate everything they post about Township" bloggers. I'm so scared, they may pick on me for Loving G.T. with my positive outlook on the progress here in the. past 3 years.. LOL, SMH, just smile, I .do...
Nancy Fritz March 17, 2013 at 09:06 PM
When I read all of the comments, I become very discouraged about our society. It seems no one has the maturity or the decency to allow another to express their views without hate mongering or giving the person a degrading insult. Everyone, when you express your opinion and then bash or make negative, insulting, immature or hateful remarks you completely discredit yourselves. You sound ignorant and it is a huge red flag not to consider anything you say as anywhere near having a shread of credibility or accuracy. It is tiring reading all of these negative comments and it interferes with a good, clean debate and exchange of information.
