Portion of Erial Road to Remain Closed for Emergency Repairs

The county is making emergency stormwater draining repairs along part of the road.

Camden County submitted the following news release:

The Camden County Department of Public Works (DPW) is conducting emergency stormwater drainage repairs on Erial Road in Gloucester Township. The work commenced today (Wednesday, Jan. 2) and will continue for the next five days, weather permitting. As always, the length of this project will be determined by the weather and other factors.

The work is necessitating the partial closure of Erial Road from Hickstown Road to College Drive for the next five days between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Only one lane of traffic will remain open heading from Hickstown Road to College Drive during these times.

“Please plan an alternante route if your travel plans include this section of roadway to avoid delays,” said Freeholder Ian Leonard, liaison to the Camden County DPW. “We appreciate your patience and understanding while our DPW crews work to make these needed improvements to our roadway infrastructure.”

The Camden County Department of Public Works is responsible for maintaining over 400 center line miles of county roadway, more than a thousand miles of storm drain infrastructure and dozens of bridges throughout the region. This year the Freeholder Board has invested more than $40 million for county road improvement projects in 2012 alone.
