Pep Boys to Blackwood Clementon Road?

The Planning Board is scheduled to hear testimony and review an application for a Pep Boys franchise Tuesday night.

Gloucester Township Planning Board is scheduled to hear an application for a nearly 5,000-square-foot Pep Boys store on Blackwood Clementon Road Tuesday, May 22.

The automotive service and tire center would be built at 1501 Blackwood Clementon Road, on the northwest corner of the intersection of Blackwood Clementon Road and Little Gloucester Road, if the planning board approves the plan.

The applicants, doing business as Texas-based Embree Asset Group Inc., are seeking preliminary and final major site plan approval.

They will be seeking a variance to build the 4,988-square-foot facility on a 0.79-acre lot. Zoning requirements for the area call for a minimum of an acre for an automotive repair facility.

The majority of applicants are identified as Texas residents in documentation submitted to the township earlier this year. The applicants will be represented by engineer Jason L. Flichter, of InSite Engineering, of Wall, and attorney Bob Smith, of Bob Smith & Associates, of Piscataway.
