Township Reorganization Meeting to Be Held Jan. 2

The meeting will see two new Council members seated.

The township's annual reorganization meeting will be held Monday, Jan. 2.

The Council meeting will begin at 6 p.m., Municipal Clerk Rosemary DiJosie said Tuesday morning. It will be held in Council chambers at the municipal building.

Incumbent Democrats Glen Bianchini and Orlando Mercado will be joined by their running mates in November's election, former councilman Samuel M. Siler and Tracey Trotto, in being sworn in for four-year Council terms during the meeting.

Council likely will adopt its 2012 meeting schedule during the reorganization meeting.

Council is also expected to take action on appointments for the following professional services during the Jan. 2 meeting: energy consultant, Zoning Board solicitor, Zoning Board engineer, general engineer, streets engineer, sidewalks engineer, recreation engineer, redevelopment engineer, storm drainage engineer, redevelopment planner and engineer, bond counsel, labor counsel, workmen's compensation insurance counsel, auditor, public defender, municipal court prosecutor, economic development consultant, computer and computer network consultant, media consultant, and finance consultant.

It will also likely appoint members as liaisons to various commissions, authorities and boards, and designate legal depositories and signatories.
