Birmingham Recognized as a Top Student-Athlete
The Timber Creek wrestling star was among 20 student-athletes recognized Monday night.
Timber Creek Regional High School wrestler Kevin Birmingham was among 20 of South Jersey's top student-athletes recognized at the Courier-Post/Kiwanis Scholar-Athlete Awards Banquet at Valleybrook Monday night.
Birmingham, who won District 30 and Region 8 at 135 pounds this year, carries a 4.1 GPA. He finished seventh at 135 in the 2011 state championships at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.
Recognized Monday night along with Birmingham were the following student-athletes, according to the Courier-Post: Zachary Andrews, of Haddon Heights; Lisa Bailey, of Haddonfield; Jessica Brown, of Haddon Township; Brian Burke, of Clearview; Sydney Cetrullo, of Eastern; Peter Coulter, of Audubon; Nicole Gallagher, of Cinnaminson; Rachel Genovese, of Cherry Hill West; Brynn Gritt, of Rancocas Valley; Shannon Grogan, of Holy Cross; Kelly Hardesty, of Clearview; Angela Harris, of Gloucester; Lindsey Hatch, of Washington Township; Vincent Kowalski, of Williamstown; Nicholas Lamberto, of Paul VI; Christian Mathew Salera, of Washington Township; Dylan Tooher, of Cinnaminson; Michael Ulmer, of Woodbury; and Frank Zhang, of Cherry Hill East.

Birmingham, who is the Class of 2011 president at Timber Creek, defeated Salera for the District 30 title in February. He finished his career with a 131-24 record, including a 37-6 senior season.
