The Legacy of Civil War Medicine: It's Not What You Think

The American Civil War: Pols and Generals Lecture Series presented by the Center for Civic Leadership and Responsibility continues with Elizabeth Estilow, President, Board of Trustees, National Civil War Medical Museum and Professor of Emeritus, Biology, Hood College discussing the fascinating topic of Civil War medicine.  Few aspects of Civil War history remain as mired in myths and misinformation as the medical side of this great conflict. Just as the governments and armies of both sides had to evolve to deal with the challenges confronting them as the scope of the war grew, so did the medical departments. Professional development credit available for educators.
