“We are proud of this year’s students—there were so many to choose from in Gloucester Township,” said Ed Glennon, president of the EMS Alliance board.

Each student must show care for the community through volunteerism, as well as maintain academic excellence and a desire to continue studies in the medical field.

“Rewarding students for giving back to the community is part of the importance of this scholarship,” Jamie Centrone, acting supervisor for the Gloucester Township EMS Alliance, said. “We want to increase volunteerism in our children and encourage them to continue throughout their lives.”

The amount of the 2011 scholarship was not announced.
