NJTV, NJEA to Highlight Triton High Program

For the second time in two years, a Triton curriculum program will be profiled on "Classroom Close-up, NJ."

Triton Regional High School's American Studies program will be profiled on NJTV next month.

The New Jersey Education Association/NJTV-produced "Classroom Close-up, NJ" program is scheduled to air locally on Sunday, Oct. 23, at both 12:30 and 7:30 p.m., according to school officials.

The Triton segment will focus on the school's New Jersey Festival event.

"We are very proud of teachers Rebecca Vives and Stephanie DeCosta for organizing this event and challenging their students to perform at higher levels," said Brian Repici, director of curriculum and instruction at Black Horse Pike Regional School District.

Vives' and DeCosta's students write a research piece and then create a visual that represents their topic, ranging from the Civil and Revolutionary wars to current topics that have roots in New Jersey.

The project combines lessons the students learn in their English and history courses.

Once the projects are completed, the school invites parents and community leaders to take in the students' work in the form of New Jersey Festival.
