Teachers Reach Tentative Contract Agreement

The Gloucester Township Education Association ceased all job actions on Friday.

The Gloucester Township Education Association has reached a tentative contract agreement with the Board of Education that officials hope will end a nearly year-long period without a new contract.

Angel McDermott, president of the GTEA, the local teacher's union said the deal was struck last Friday after both sides paired down negotiating units and went behind closed doors.

She said details on salary increases are still be ironed out but an agreement in principal is at hand.
